Home services

Calls, photos, and the estimate.

An answering service for contractors is only one piece of the week. The truck is out, the phone rings, a homeowner texts pictures of a water heater, and an estimate sits unopened. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and roofing companies still run those three on paper.

AI system platform for Calls, photos, and the estimate

The week

Three piles, usually on three different phones.

The missed ring.

Someone is under a sink. The office line rings out. Invoca, May 23, 2024 found that 27 percent of calls to home services businesses went unanswered, and that less than 3 percent of callers pushed to voicemail left a message. That is their May 23, 2024 research, not your call log.

The photo.

A homeowner sends a dark picture and the word “leaking.” It lands on a personal phone. The person who prices jobs does not see it until the truck is back. Half the time the address is in a later text.

The estimate.

The number went out. Nobody checked whether it was opened, and nobody sent the one-line nudge the owner would have approved. The job goes to the shop that replied while yours was on a roof.

What you still own

Quotes and customer messages wait for the crew.

The estimator.

A standing rate you already publish can be repeated. A price for this house cannot. The person who would have said the number on the phone is the person who says it in the queue.

The schedule.

“We will be there Tuesday at 2” is a promise about a truck. The system does not make it. A template can say a person will confirm the window on the next business day.

The nudge.

A follow-up on an open estimate can be a sentence you approved: still want us to hold the date, reply here. It cannot sweeten the price on its own.

Their survey

Homeowners want a same-day reply. The report also says who actually does it.

The shops.

The same report says 20 percent of pros reply within the hour and 60 percent reply the same day. HVAC was among the slower trades in their write-up.

The log.

The log shows the misses, the files received, and the replies that waited for a yes.

Run it or have it built

Kyra covers the phone. The quote file is still a build.

One pile.

A shop that never prices from photos, and that already answers every ring with a person, does not need all three. Say which pile is real. We would rather build one.

Questions

Contractor questions, answered without a clock.

Is this an answering service for contractors?

It is the call-handling piece plus the two jobs that usually sit next to it: the photo and the estimate. Answering, on our side, does not mean we promise to pick up in a set number of seconds. Kyra can take the first conversation. Missed-call rescue starts when the ring was already missed. If you only want a person in a call center reading a script, say that on the plan and we will tell you if we are the wrong company.

Do you cover plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and roofing the same way?

The week looks alike: a phone, a photo, a price. The words do not. A roofing photo needs the slope and the flashing. An electrical photo needs the panel label. The form asks for the shot your estimator already asks for on the phone. We do not ship one generic “home services” script and hope the trade sorts it out.

Will you guarantee a reply within the hour?

No. Jobber’s 2026 report says customers often expect a same-day response, and that 20 percent of pros reply within the hour. The log shows how the miss is recorded, and a person still approves any line that commits a truck or a price.

Can the system send the estimate?

It can send an estimate a person has already approved, and it can send a nudge you wrote. It cannot write the number. Photo quote intake exists so the estimator has a file. The price is still theirs. If your process is “we only price on site,” the confirmation should say that, and the form should stop pretending otherwise.

What should I send with the plan?

How the phone is covered today, where photos arrive, and who is allowed to say a price. A week of that, in plain language, is more useful than a software list. We reply with the first system, or with the reason to wait.

The trade

Say which pile is on the floor this week.

Phone, photos, or open estimates. A person names the first system for that pile and leaves the other two alone until you ask.
