What is a point worth?

Put in the traffic you already have, what an order is worth, and where your conversion rate sits today. The arithmetic tells you what one point of improvement is worth over a year. No email, nothing stored, nothing sent anywhere.

Figures are shown in whatever currency you entered. This is arithmetic on your own numbers, not a forecast and not a client result. It runs entirely in your browser: the numbers never leave the page and nothing is stored.

How to read it

The number is a ceiling, not a promise.

This tells you what the gap between two conversion rates is worth on your traffic. It does not tell you that the gap is closeable, and nobody can tell you that from the outside.

What it is

Arithmetic on your own numbers

Sessions times order value times the difference between the two rates. Nothing is modelled, nothing is assumed, and no benchmark is applied to your business.

  • Your traffic, your order value
  • No industry averages involved

What it is not

A forecast

A target conversion rate is a hypothesis until a change ships and a date range closes around it. Use this to decide whether the path is worth investigating, not to plan a quarter.

  • Not a projection
  • Not a client result
  • Not a guarantee of anything

What next

Find where it actually leaks

If the yearly figure is large enough to care about, the next question is which step of the path is losing the orders. That is what the Conversion Engine is for.

  • Measure the path first
  • Then fix one step at a time
See the Conversion Engine

Next step

Find the gap first.

The calculator tells you what the gap is worth. Finding which step of the path is losing the orders takes a look at the path itself.
